- Veterinary Student Externship - Spartanburg, SC
Description
Looking for an externship where you'll do more than shadow?
At Hub City Animal Hospital, we believe the best way to learn veterinary medicine is by being part of the team. We're inviting veterinary students to join us for a 2-4 week externship designed to provide meaningful hands-on experience, one-on-one mentorship, and exposure to all aspects of small animal general practice.
Hub City Animal Hospital is a newly unified practice created when two long-established private hospitals came together under one roof. Together, we've built a collaborative multi-doctor environment with decades of combined experience, loyal clients, and a team that genuinely enjoys teaching and mentoring future veterinarians.
What You'll Experience
- Work alongside experienced veterinarians during appointments, diagnostics, surgery, and dentistry
- Gain hands-on experience based on your comfort level
- Participate in medical case discussions and treatment planning
- Learn practical skills that build confidence
- Receive individualized mentorship from doctors who enjoy teaching and helping students grow
- Experience what it's like to practice in a collaborative, privately owned multi-doctor hospital
Our goal isn't simply to have you observe. We want you involved, asking questions, building skills, and leaving with greater confidence than when you arrived.
Why Spartanburg?
- One of South Carolina's fastest-growing communities
- Easy access to Greenville, Asheville, Charlotte, the Blue Ridge Mountains, and the South Carolina coast
- Affordable cost of living with a vibrant downtown, great restaurants, breweries, and outdoor recreation
Many students use externships to discover the type of practice where they want to begin their careers. At Hub City Animal Hospital, we hope your externship is more than just a learning experience...it could be the beginning of a long-term professional home after graduation.
