Animal Clinics of Central Ohio is a locally owned, community-focused veterinary group proudly serving pets and their families across the greater Columbus area. With two small animal hospitals — Groveport Canal Animal Hospital and Easton Animal Hospital — our mission is to provide exceptional medical care in a compassionate, personalized environment where pets get the same level of attention and respect we'd give our own.

We are independently owned, meaning medical decisions are made in-house without corporate interference. Our practice culture emphasizes teamwork, growth, and a healthy work-life balance. We believe in mentoring new doctors, supporting continuing education, and empowering every team member to do meaningful, impactful work.

Our services include wellness and preventive care, advanced diagnostics, general surgery, dental procedures, and client education. Both hospitals are equipped with digital radiography, in-house lab equipment, and experienced support staff including registered technicians.

We are committed to giving back to the communities we serve through food assistance programs, pet-owner education, and partnerships with local animal welfare organizations. Our team is made up of passionate veterinary professionals who believe in high-quality care, kindness, and teamwork.

Company History

Animal Clinics of Central Ohio has proudly served the greater Columbus community for over three decades. The Groveport Canal Animal Hospital was originally purchased in 1989 by Dr. Land and Dr. Shapiro, followed by the acquisition of Easton Animal Hospital in 1993. Under their leadership, the clinics became trusted pillars of veterinary care in their respective communities.

In 2022, ownership was transitioned to Dr. Jennifer Steelesmith and her husband Lance, who continue to honor the clinic’s legacy of local, compassionate care. Dr. Steelesmith joined the Groveport team in 2016 and has since built strong relationships with clients, patients, and staff. With the new ownership comes a vision rooted in respect for the past, dedication to modern medicine, and a steadfast commitment to supporting a thriving, team-oriented workplace.
