Calling All Regional Veterinarians, Licensed Veterinary Technicians and Veterinary Assistants
In response to the current veterinary emergency care crisis, Upstate Veterinary Specialties has developed an urgent care service that we are calling “Fast Track.” This team provides care, mostly on an outpatient basis, to pets presenting to our Emergency Department with non-life-threatening illnesses, much like you might see on a daily basis at the primary care level: gastrointestinal signs; respiratory infections; basic ophthalmologic problems (conjunctivitis and corneal ulcers); external ear infections; acute dermatologic issues (anal sacculitis, hotspots, broken nails); minor lacerations, bite wounds and porcupine quills; acute lameness; urinary tract infection and feline lower urinary tract disease, to name a few.
We have designated a separate urgent care space in the hospital that includes: two (2) exam rooms, a treatment/procedure room separate from our ICU, a dedicated laboratory space, anesthesia equipment, minor surgical instruments, anesthesia equipment, IV fluid pumps, ample space for electronic medical record data entry, a full complement of injectable medications and an inhouse pharmacy. Fast Track doctors would also have the full support of UVS specialists. Cases that are ultimately deemed ill enough for hospitalization will be transferred to the Emergency Department as needed.
We are currently looking to hire veterinarians, veterinary technicians and veterinary assistants to staff this service 7 days per week, 7:00 am – 10:00 pm. This is a fabulous opportunity for a doctor, technician or assistant who is looking for a new challenge outside of general practice but is hesitant to jump directly into emergency medicine. We are open to full-time, part-time and per diem positions.
Upstate Veterinary Specialties, PLLC (UVS) is a growing, privately-owned specialty and emergency practice located in upstate New York.
