Central Animal Hospital is seeking a Medical Director to join our Team!
Central Animal was established in the late 1970s and has been serving the St. Petersburg and greater Tampa Bay community for more than 40 years. We offer unique services in house including: Wellness/Prevention, surgery, regenerative therapies, integrative medicine & nutrition, canine rehab, canine atopic dermatitis, radiosurgery, in-house pharmacy, house calls, cancer treatment, cryosurgery, boarding.

4-day work week Monday - Friday from 8AM – 6PM (with a 1-hour lunch break) and CLOSED on the weekends!
Top of the line technology and equipment including, Digital/Dental Radiology, Ultrasound, Xray machines, CBLO, Laser – all the bells & whistles
Skilled team of technicians – they are well utilized and do all the anesthetics, bloodwork, x-rays, recovery
Great opportunity to learn advanced surgical procedures
Willing to provide support for any industry area of interest
Compensation Package & Benefits include:
Starting base salary $125K (DOE) + 24% Production (no negative accrual year 1)
Signing Bonus + Relocation Assistance
3 weeks’ vacation
$2500 CE, in addition we cover State Licensing, DEA, PLIT, AVMA, State & Local Associations
Medical Director Leadership Qualities, Responsibilities & Qualifications:
Advancing Medical Care
Oversee surgical and medical cases for all doctors, ensuring positive outcomes, accurate estimates, client communication and education.
Answer client questions and concerns regarding procedures.
Provide oversight and direction of medical standards, quality of care and inventory.
Establish medical protocols.
Oversee transfer of medical cases from doctor to doctor.
Minimizes waste and controls costs relating to medical supplies, surgical instruments, and drug inventories.
Leading Staff and Practice
Participate in recruiting and interviewing process.
Passionate about Mentoring Associates.
Monitor Doctor performance and production.
Participates in technician appraisal and medical counseling sessions.
Ensure all medical staff receive applicable training.
Supports the Hospital Manager with staff training programs and tracking CE and DVM licensure.
Drive revenue contribute to hospital growth, and manage hospital expenses.
Assist in the preparation of an annual planning strategy, operating budget, and capital budget.
Monitors key financial reports.
Drives patient visits and encourages community involvement.
Embrace change and support interests within the hospital.
Monitor’s client service, marketing, and growth initiatives.
