Metropolitan Veterinary Specialists & Emergency Services in Louisville KY is seeking 2 emergency veterinarians to join our growing team of experienced clinicians.  

Metropolitan Veterinary Specialists & Emergency Services (MVES) is a multidisciplinary referral practice including specialists in surgery, critical care, internists, neurology, dermatology and veterinarians with practices limited to dentistry and ophthalmology.  The emergency service is guided by a team of one double boarded internist/criticalist and one criticalist.  The team consists of 10 emergency clinicians with varying internship and residency experiences that provide 24 hour support. Mentorship and accelerated internship training is available for new graduates.  Our clinicians are supported by a dedicated highly trained technical team of technicians, veterinary assistants, kennel assistants and client care specialists.

Five board certified surgeons share on call duties to cover the emergency service and are available for consultation at any time. 

Services provided by the emergency team include but are not limited to the following:

• routine hematology
• routine clinical chemistry 
• blood gas analysis
• PT/aPTT
• thromboelestography
• invasive and non invasive blood pressure evaluation
• EKG
• in-house telemetry
• oxygen therapy
• mechanical ventilation
• radiography
• ultrasound
• computed tomography
• fluid therapy
• supportive care
