Bartram Tail Veterinary Hospital is looking for a new part- or full-time Associate Veterinarian to join our growing team!
We welcome applicants that are new grads needing mentorship and support from other veterinarians in the practice as well as the team members that are familiar with the daily ins and outs, or a more experienced vet wanting to conquer new challenges in their career and maybe focus on a new discipline. There is a place for both at Bartram Trail Veterinary Hospital.
We have a hard-working group with a positive attitude that cares for our patient base that is primarily dog and cat…with the occasional sick rat/guinea pig/rabbit and a cockatiel toenail trim for variety. The team is supportive of each other and have good chemistry together from veterinarians, reception, veterinary technicians and assistants to the kennel crew. We help each other and can be a bit silly sometimes (fair warning), but we are serious about the care we provide to our patients.
The clinic is a free-standing veterinary hospital plus boarding. It is a privately owned business that was opened in 2006. There are several nearby specialty veterinary hospitals (internal medicine, surgery, ophthalmology, dermatology, neurology) for difficult cases. Emergency and urgent cases are referred to one of the three 24/7 emergency clinics, one after-hour emergency clinic, and one urgent care clinic.
We are open Mondays through Fridays 8am to 5pm and Saturdays 8am to 1pm. There is no after-hours emergency coverage required. A full-time position is 4 days a week with a rotating Saturday schedule, and it is rare for our staff to need to stay much past closing time. It is not a flex for us to stay late!
Our veterinary capabilities include in-house CBC and serum chemistry analyzers, a tonometer, digital x-ray, dental x-ray, high speed dental drill/scaler/polisher unit, microscope, laser therapy, isoflurane anesthesia machines, multi-parameter patient monitoring equipment, ultrasound, ophthalmoscope, otoscope and doppler blood pressure. We have a committed surgical suite, 2 wet tables, a dental table and a dry table in the spacious treatment area. There are four exam rooms with plenty of elbow room. Our records are maintained on our Intravet software for easy access. Teams work as a pair of veterinary technicians/assistants for each doctor to ensure smooth flow and a helping hand. The standard appointments are 30 minutes long, giving you more time to discuss concerns and education with owners.
Outside of the clinic there are beaches, the St Johns River, historic St Augustine, a professional football team, and several state and national parks for camping and hiking. We are also located near Orlando and the theme parks, so a weekend or day trip is an easy drive.
The area is growing with lots of new people and homes. There are 2 new high schools nearby, as well as new K-8 schools. St Johns county has consistently had one of the highest-ranking school systems in the state. New patients/clients are making appointments with us every day. There are more doodles and Frenchies than you can shake a stick at.
Our team likes to get together for outings a have some “non-clinic” time together too. Paints with a Twist, glass blowing, zip-lining and a haunted pub tour in St Augustine are a few of the activities we have done. Team members have also participated in walks in support of Brain Cancer Awareness, Canine Companions for Independence and a local High School.
Our base salary is $85,000-$110,000 based on experience. We have always paid our veterinarians a fixed salary so to minimize “running up the bill”, but you will also have the freedom and flexibility to try new techniques and skills. We are open to new ideas, techniques and protocols and we discuss and update our procedures regularly between doctors and management.

Professional memberships (JVMS, FVMA, AVMA)
Professional licensing for Florida

Bartram Trail Veterinary Hospital is growing and looking for upbeat, detail-oriented individuals that are able to multi-task in a full-service companion animal veterinary hospital. We are a full-service veterinary and boarding facility. We want our clients and patients to be recognized when they walk through the door and feel like they are family. Our doctors and support team compassionately and competently care for their patient's wellness needs, keeping them up to date on any needed vaccines or laboratory testing, as well as addressing ill patients and surgical cases. Our veterinary capabilities include in-house CBC and serum chemistry analyzers, a tonometer, digital x-ray, dental x-ray, high speed dental drill/scaler/polisher unit, microscope, laser therapy, isoflurane anesthesia machines, multi-parameter patient monitoring equipment, ultrasound, ophthalmoscope, otoscope and doppler blood pressure. We have a committed surgical suite, 2 wet tables and a dry table in the spacious treatment area. There are four exam rooms with plenty of elbow room. Our records are maintained on our Intravet software for easy access. Our teams work in units of a veterinary technician/assistant with e...ach doctor to ensure smooth flow and that there is always a helping hand. Our standard appointments are 30 minutes long. The boarding area has separate areas for dogs and cats, with 4 smaller rooms for the dogs, to facilitate ease of caring for our boarders. There is even a room just for our smaller canine boarders that is quieter. Although we do not have a groomer, we do brush-outs and baths as requested from our clients. All vaccines must be up to date for our boarders, daycare pets and baths so that all the animals in our care are protected. We also require a current negative fecal parasite exam as our backyard play area is real grass and we want everyone to be safe from infections. The boarding team know the pets and owners well as many of our boarders have been coming in for a long time. The boarding area is directly attached to the rest of the hospital so any care or concerns our boarding team have regarding a pet in their care can easily be addressed by the doctors.
