Companion Animal Hospital is a small animal/ general practice that has been providing quality, locally owned service to Tangipahoa Parish since the 1950’s. Dr. Taylor McCain purchased the clinic from Dr. Ron Gilbert in 2021 making us one of the only female owned and operated animal hospitals in Hammond. We’re looking for a motivated associate who can provide comprehensive care for our long-established client base.

 Hammond is the quickly growing home to Southeastern Louisiana University. It has a bustling, adorable downtown as well as convenient access to the Hammond Square Mall and a short drive into the larger cities. It attracts students and professionals who are looking for a place to put down roots and enjoy a well-established community.

Our goal is to maintain the small-town atmosphere while offering modern services provided by a friendly and compassionate staff. Companion Animal Hospital boasts a substantial Idexx lab including a SediVue, CoAg, Digital Cytology, Catalyst and Procyte. We also have digital radiology, ultrasound, a surgery suite and a dental suite. Our knowledgeable and dedicated staff will support you as you get settled in, with mentorship available.

Adding an associate will allow us to continue to provide quality services to our community and enhance the bond we have with our clients and patients. New graduates are welcome to apply. We do require availability for alternating on-call and Saturday hours. Salary is negotiable, but base pay is $80,000.00/year. Contract details are also negotiable but will include CE, License fees and AVMA memberships paid.  We offer a uniform allowance, pet discounts, paid sick days, vacation time and holidays upon hire, and IRA after one year.
