Sound Equine Veterinary Hospital
Sound Equine Veterinary Hospital, located in the beautiful Puget Sound region is further expanding our services and has an opening for a full time Mixed Animal associate. We offer both in-clinic and ambulatory services, with a shared responsibility for inpatient care.
You would enjoy a well-equipped hospital with inside and outside stalls, an arena and a round pen. Diagnostic capabilities include a full on-site lab, digital radiography, and ultrasonography, shockwave, 3m/1.5m endoscope, and tools needed for regenerative medicine. We have a surgery suite and recovery stall with a building surgical practice. A fully equipped truck will be provided.
Our primary focus is to provide excellent patient care by practicing great medicine and supporting the client’s needs. We work well together, and support each other’s strengths, weaknesses, and interests. We are committed to weekly doctors’ meetings to continue working as a cohesive group. Doctors can expect to be provided an assistant for the work day to facilitate their efficiency and allow us to better serve clients.
There will be a case load immediately available for the new hire for farm animal patients with a large opportunity for growth based on geographic needs. In addition to the ovine/bovine/caprine patients, you would have the ability to see equids as well. We are open to different ratios of coverage within species based on patient needs. Emergency coverage duties would likely include approximately every 4th weekend, and a day or two per week unless more is desired. We are in a position to be able to provide significant mentorship if need be. We support each veterinarian’s interests, and guide scheduling toward your strengths and interests.
We are looking for a candidate who is committed to providing the best possible care for hospitalized and ambulatory patients. It is necessary that the candidate is able to articulately and honestly answer questions from clients as they seek our guidance making choices for their equines. Record keeping, timely responses to clients’ questions, prescriptions, and lab results are requirements.
Sound Equine offers company sponsored health, dental, and vision policies, as well as the opportunity to participate in a 401(k) retirement plan, and choose from a variety of critical care, life, and short and long term disability policies. We offer paid time off, company paid CE allowance, professional dues and membership reimbursement, as well as moving assistance and signing bonus for the successful candidate.
The area is beautiful with mild seasons. The Olympic peninsula is to our West, and Seattle is a ferry boat ride away. Mountains, water, forests, and big city interests are all within easy reach.
