You are responsible for ensuring that all of the dogs in Biscuits & Bath’s care are receiving a well-rounded program of wellness and preventative medical care. You are also responsible for developing and strengthening client relationships.
Operations and Logistics
Creating, implementing and overseeing company-wide health-related policies
Ensuring all animals receive any treatment necessary in a timely manner
Managing the process of all medical emergencies
Overseeing the process of in-house administered medications
Ensuring compliance with all necessary government agencies regarding health issues
Training associates in health and safety procedures
Cultivating relationships with all clients
Communicating with clients on a daily basis in lobby and by phone
Returning all client calls same day
Distributing topical information to the entire client base
Managing relationships with key veterinarians and hospitals
Communicating with local veterinarians on a daily basis regarding mutual clients
Generating referrals to and from Biscuits & Bath's partner vets
Number of incidents and health-related issues
Number and quality of veterinarian relationships
DVM, VMD or equivalent degree from an accredited university.
New York State veterinary license in good standing.
Minimum of two-years veterinarian experience or internship at emergency / specialty center.
Genuine interest in the well-being of dogs.
Ability to juggle a variety of responsibilities, while balancing competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent interpersonal and communication (both verbal and written) skills.
High degree of independent decision-making and problem-solving capability.
Strong attention to detail.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Must be physically fit to lift dogs 50lb +, kneel, stand for long periods of time and perform requirements of the job.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint & Word) and Internet savvy.
