Compassionate Care Veterinary Clinic is looking to hire a new associate to work 3-5 days a week. We are a busy, full service practice that opened in 2008 but is still growing. The position would allow us to create a new, urgent care only shift so that we can continue to see same day appointments, without compromising the quality of our wellness and chronic care visits.
At the Compassionate Care Veterinary Clinic, we recognize that our patients are not only part of our clientele's family, but they end up often becoming part of our own. As a result, we are not only looking for an associate who is a talented veterinarian, we are looking for the right person to partner with our staff, to provide the best possible care and education for our patients' caretakers. We know that every pet has different medical needs, and that every caretaker has different emotional concerns, so we need someone who can assess each patient as an individual in order to provide honest and thoughtful recommendations.
We offer annual and semi-annual physical exams that are designed to educate caretakers on how to keep their pets healthy, happy and out of our urgent care situations. We also aim to identify any potential medical, physical or behavioral issues before they become difficult to manage. Our technicians are trained to get thorough histories, provide support and assistance to the doctors, and extensive education to our clients. We are fortunate to be located in a region that services northern Rhode Island and south-eastern Massachusetts, a strong middle class community that has come to trust our recommendations for preventative, chronic and urgent care.
For those pets with chronic illness or special needs, semi-annual appointments allow us to keep track of our patents medical condition, assess any changes that may be needed for their medications, and provide information on any recent advances that could improve patient care. We have available an in house doppler blood pressure montitor, ecg, tonopen, ultrasound and in house laboratory that allow us to monitor their condition and assess their response to our treatment plans. Using that diagnostic information, thorough physical exams, and detailed patient history, we then advise our patients' caretakers on how to best care for their pet's long term medical needs. Technician appointents are also availabe for those pets that need hospice fluid, diagnostic monitoring, or routine care that does not require consultation with the veterinarian.
The new shift is designed to better provide for the increasing need for urgent care in our area. While we are not a 24 hour or on call clinic, we do see many patients with injuries or illness that shouldn't wait 2 or 3 days to be seen, but do not necessarily require referral level treatment. We offer appointments for injured or ill patients from 7 am to 11 pm. The support staff is well trained in venipuncture, triage, and in house diagnostics. We are able to offer hospitalized care to any non critical patients, and work closely with a local referral clinic for any patients that need more support than we are able to provide.
We also able to offer our patients a wide variety of elective and emergency soft tissue surgical procedures, though interest in surgery is not a requirement for this position.
Our goal is to provide the best medicine and client education we can, while having some fun with our work, and minimizing the stress and drama that can often be a part of our careers. The business emphasizes the importance, not only of our patients' well being, but also our staffs. We insist on utilizing all available paid time off, offer matching funds for retirement plans, have an excellent package for continuing education, health care options, and professional dues and fees. The business even shuts down for a day to take the entire staff out once a Summer for a "mental health day." Salary is based on years of experience and ability, though we are willing to work with and train recent graduates.
We invite you to see the difference Compassionate Care can make in your pet’s veterinary care.
