JOB DESCRIPTION: An Associate Veterinarian works collaboratively with other doctors and support staff to advance the quality of medicine and surgery in the practice, provide exceptional client services to families and their pets, and promote hospital success and growth.
Build rapport with clients by listening to them and empathizing with their concerns
Perform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures that deliver the highest quality care, while minimizing patient stress and discomfort
Communicate with clients on topics such as pet diagnosis, treatment plans, preventive health care, and nutritional needs
Communicate clearly with clients about treatment options, costs, potential risks and benefits, and possible/probable outcomes
Prepare treatment cost estimates and assure that the client is aware of the rationale/justification for fees before proceeding
Maintain patient medical/surgical/dental records and assure all necessary records and logs are kept up-to-date
Stay current on new veterinary medical information and advances, protocols, and pertinent regulations
Assist in the development and training of the paraprofessional staff to ensure delivery of the highest quality care and exceptional client service.

We are a busy 4-5-doctor practice in a free-standing hospital built in 1996. Established in 1985, we are located on the main street across from a County Public Library and local arts center in downtown Rosemount, MN, all of which make the hospital highly visible and easily accessible to the public. We provide routine and more advanced progressive medical and surgical care. We emphasize preventative wellness care and preventative dentistry, as well as advanced soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, medical imaging, and chemotherapy. Our practice has a long history of continuous growth, and a reputation for high-quality in-depth medicine, and compassionate and friendly staff. Basic Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes:
A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (DVM) from an accredited university, or equivalent
License in good standing to practice in Minnesota or the ability to obtain a license.
Solid critical thinking skills and imagination
Commitment to practice the highest standard of medicine, surgery, & dentistry
Ability to apply principles of progressive veterinary medicine, including emergency situations
Commitment to uphold the veterinary code of ethics.
