Baldwin and Crosstown Animal Clinic is a small animal practice located in Corpus Christi, Texas, with four veterinarians. Extended hours are Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. No after hours emergencies.
We are looking for:
1) a veterinarian with at least one year of practice experience, hourly wage open with a minimum of $50 per hour, or
2) one or two new graduates, beginning pay $40/hr, good mentoring
The minimum workload required is 35 hrs/wk and the maximum allowed is 55 hrs/wk, depending on the practice needs and veterinarian preference. The veterinarians are paid twice monthly as contract labor. As an example, a new graduate who works 50 hrs per week can expect to earn at least 104,000 per year, whereas an experienced veterinarian can expect to earn at least $130,000 per year.
This practice serves a diverse clientele on a walk-in basis except for elective surgeries. We have digital X-ray, Abaxis blood chemistry/CBC equipment and typical diagnostic kits. Normally, two veterinarians, a receptionist, a manager and four to six veterinary technicians are working at any given time. Walk-in (no appointments scheduled except for surgeries, which average 2-6/day). No emergencies. No hospitalization, boarding, or grooming. Minimal merchandizing. Busy, fun practice. Four to six veterinary assistants, two veterinarians, and one secretary usually work at any given time.
