Practice Overview:
Established in 1978, Western Veterinary Services, PC is a second-generation practice originating with the retiring veterinarians, Drs. Bill and Norma Headlee and carried on by their daughter, Corale. We are passionate about taking care of our clients, our community, and our team. We believe in serving our communities through personalized service in a clinic-based setting. We have an updated facility with all the bells and whistles from ultrasound and digital x-ray to surgery suites with gas anesthesia and in-house blood work. We also have hydraulic chutes and trim tables, padded equine surgery room and stocked vet trucks with Bowie boxes.   Also, our clients bring the individual animal cases to the clinic so doctors can balance work with personal life.
What You’ll Be Working On:
- Continue the full-service medicine our loyal clientele appreciates.
- Build and maintain client relationships and educate on treatment options for all species.
- Manage a diverse livestock caseload from internal medicine, chute work, lameness, reproduction, record analysis as well as provide a full range of pet services.
- 85% beef cow calf, 10% companion animal 5% equine.
- Guide and utilize exceptional trained support staff including in-truck vet assistants.

Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine
- Licensed in SD with Level 2 Federal Accreditation.
- Demonstrate commitment to ethics and integrity.
- Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Have worked on beef cattle in the United States plains region either in an externship, or a previous job.
