Associate Veterinarian
Androscoggin Animal Hospital (Topsham, ME)

If you’re looking for a veterinary home where teamwork actually means something, where your input is valued, and where lunch breaks really do happen — Androscoggin Animal Hospital might be the perfect fit.
We’re an AAHA-accredited, seven-doctor practice (but we'd like to be fully rounded with eight or nine!) proudly serving the pets of Southern Maine since 1985. Around here, excellence isn’t just a buzzword — it’s the standard. Our team is known for delivering top-tier medicine (AAHA sets the bar high!), but also for being downright good humans who take care of each other. Many of our staff members have been with us for years — even decades — and that longevity says it all.
What We’re Looking For:
We’re open to veterinarians of all experience levels, but we’d especially love to add someone who’s confident in (or excited to learn more about) exotic pet care — from bunnies to bearded dragons. You’ll have a strong, experienced support team behind you so you can focus on what you do best: practicing great medicine and connecting with clients.
What Makes Us Different
- AAHA-accredited means we meet over 900 standards of veterinary excellence — and we’re proud of it.
- No overnights, no on-call — we believe rest is part of doing your best work.
- Half-day Saturdays (shared rotation) so you can start your weekend early.
- Midday breaks built into the schedule — time to catch up on notes, treatments, or just breathe. Some of our staff like to go for a walk down the beautiful country road, work out (in our on-site exercise room!), or just take the time to breathe
- A full, skilled support staff that keeps things running smoothly (and laughs often).
- A culture that’s supportive, positive, and genuinely fun — our team works hard and has each other’s backs.
About Life in Topsham
Topsham sits right on the Androscoggin River, just across from Brunswick and minutes from Freeport (hello, L.L. Bean!). On your days off, you can kayak, hike, ski, or grab some of Maine’s best seafood — all without straying far from home. Boston, the White Mountains, and even Montreal are just a few hours away if you’re craving a bigger adventure.
If you’re looking for a team that values medicine and morale, we’d love to hear from you. Come see why we were voted “Best of the Best Veterinarian” in Downeast Dog News for multiple years, and why our staff sticks around — not because they have to, but because they want to.
