- Associate veterinarian, mixed practice
Description
Country Companions Veterinary Services is a progressive, privately owned mixed
animal practice with a focus on providing high quality care and education to our
patients from small animal to farm animal. We see all types of farm animals aside
from equine and have built a practice and a committed clientele base that prioritizes
a high standard of care for our patients regardless of species. Within the farm animal
side of our practice, most of our patients are small ruminants and pigs living on small
hobby farms as pets. The remainder is mostly comprised of small bovine herds,
camelids, poultry, and the occasional breeder/production farm. Within the small animal
side, we primarily care for dogs and cats. While we are a general practice our case load
ranges from routine wellness to urgent sick appointments, based on your confidence
level and capabilities.
We are looking for a fun, collaborative associate veterinarian to join our current
team of 3 full-time doctors. We offer support for anyone looking to expand their scope of
practice and experience, including new graduates or someone seeking to change
their direction in veterinary medicine. As a privately owned small practice, we work
closely together to make advancements in practice protocols, update equipment, and
educate one another to ensure we are maintaining as high a standard of care as
possible.
You may be asking yourself – what does working as an associate at CCVS look
like?
The practice is open Monday-Friday for appointments.
To be mindful of work life balance, each associate consistently gets one
weekday off. Once a month, that weekday is a Friday, to give a 3-day weekend.
On call through evenings and weekends is rotated and distributed evenly, and
the making of the on-call schedule is a collaborative effort. A technician is on call with associates on the weekends.
Surgery/Dentals, farm calls, and small animal appointments are evenly
distributed, based on interest and need.
